The flurry of MSF pre-season testing is underway and the reports that we’re receiving are, frankly, shocking! We always knew that MSF brought out the best cars from the country’s best tuners and chassis specialists, but it’s getting crazy.
There is video proof of Faidzil Alang doing a stupendous 2m 20.9 in the Team Fast Lap’s ‘Rocket Lemon’ Honda EG6-K24, which you can watch here:
Latest news now however is that Keifli Othman did a 2m 20.8 during testing this week in FAST Auto’s Green Kermit EG6-K24. The FAST Auto EG6 in the experienced hands of Keifli Othman has long been a protagonist car at SNF and MSF, hence such a rumour is not unrealistic.
Then there’s news that Southern-meister Lai Wee Sing is preparing an EK9-K24 with a sequential 6-speed gearbox; and we know that when R-Engineering builds a car, they rarely disappoint when it comes to delivering performance. 2m 20 from R-Engineering? Very plausible!
MSF 2016 early season leader Shazul Hisham has jumped over to Evotec Racing, who are preparing a new EK9 for him with his K24 powerplant from the awesome LMC Engineering DC2 that he campaigned last year. Will he be able to once again be right at the top right from the first round?
DNT-Sitty Racing Team have 2 units of K24-powered Hondas in their line up: the EK9 to be driven by superstar Mark “Blue Steel” Darwin and the Integra DC5R by Ahmad Akid. The DNT-Sitty team vehicles are gorgeous in their tangerine-red team colours, and the drivers are very capable.
F-Tuned are also ready, now that they’ve got their DC5R running a K24 since the last round last year, steered by the owner of F-Tuned himself, Wan Ahmad Farouk. They have also teamed up with Banafe Racing, and the new team is named Ftuned Banafe Racing Team, bringing a K20-powered DC2 to the party. Great to see F-Tuned proving their product at MSF Racing!
De’ Garage Racing also have a DC5R with a K24 powerplant, driven by Haris and Yuszaidi who has some devil car control skills.
And let’s not forget, our MSF Racing 2016 Prof Khalid Kadir Cup winners and overall Champions of Race Cars Open in 2016, the brothers Pee Sau Peng and Pee Sau Fan. They’ll be back in their Integra DC5R also fitted with a K24 and able to easily knock of 2m 25s laptimes.
It’s looks like it’s going to be a Honda white-wash at MSF Racing Race Cars Open this coming year. Until someone brings something else along. Turbo 4WD anyone?
