MSF ENDURO 2020 FAQ [Q&A document]

MSF ENDURO 2020 FAQ [Q&A document]

1) What are the plans for MSF this year 2020?
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent MCO levels, MSF plans to run 3 rounds this year, and to make it worthwhile for all drivers / teams we plan for all the races to be either 10-lap races or Enduro.
This effectively means that:
– there is no overall MSF Championship this year;
– however, as they are all Enduro rounds, there is an MSF Enduro Championship this year.
Historically, the Enduro Champions receive a special Enduro Championship trophy every year since the Enduro Cup inception in 2018. We will continue this for this year.

2) What is the compulsory “MSF MCO Fund” and why do I have to pay it?
Due to the pandemic this year, current SOP by MKN does not permit any spectators to be present during any competitive sporting events, and this includes motorsports.
As MSF is very dependant on the Paddock Fees to cover costs, this loss of revenue will need to be covered and replaced. The MSF MCO Fund will be offset by fuel provided by an Official Fuel Partner, which are ju-uust about to sign with them. Once this is confirmed, we will be able to confirm the value of the MSF MCO Fund and the amount of fuel that will be distributed to each participant.
Thank you for being supportive and understanding with the situation.

a) 40 min Enduro
– Super Production group
– Super Street group
b) 1.5 hr Enduro

5) I have purchased the Annual Package. What happens now?
As there will be 3 races this year, we will work with that and turn it into “credit”, from which we will minus the current Entry Fees per round, as well as the MSF MCO Fund, and then carry over the remaining balance to 2021. By all expected calculations at this time, this would be to the value of 1 round in 2021. MSF is proud that we are always fair and appreciative in this manner, and we will continue to be so.

6) What happens to my Entry Fees that I paid for the original Round 1?
The value of your Fees for Round 1 will be credited and your Entry carried over for the MSF Merdeka Enduro, and you will just need to top-up any additional fees to match the difference between a normal Sprint Round and the Enduro Round.
Example: Saga Cup already paid RM 530 for Round 1. For the Merdeka Enduro the fees are RM 850. Therefore need to top-up RM 320 for the Merdeka Enduro, as well as the MSF MCO Fund (will be no more than RM 200).

7) What happens to the original Paddock Wristband Passes that I purchased for the original Round 1?
By SOP, the limit is a maximum of 6 personnel per car. This includes Driver and Crew, maximum 6 only. Therefore, where previously your MSF Entry included 2 wristband paddock passes, we now need to increase this to 6.
Please take note that this is strictly for Drivers and Crew only, no family or children permitted.
For those that have previously purchased extra wristbands for the original Round 1, just like the Round 1 Entry Fees, this value of your purchase will be credited and offset against any other top-up fees for MSF Merdeka Enduro.

8) What are the social distancing SOP in place for the coming MSF Enduro to ensure my safety and restrict the spread of the pandemic?
The SOP is:
– maximum 6 personnel per car
– North pit: maximum 4 cars per pit
– South pit: maximum 2 cars per pit
– minimum of 1-metre social distancing requirement between every body at all times
– face mask or face shield is compulsory to be warn at all times
– Driver’s Briefing: our idea is to use the Rooftop as it is open air, with 1m social distancing of course, and QR code check-in
– Podium: will not the usual Podium as that would not be sufficient nor safe. We will conduct it either at the Rooftop, Pitlane, or the Track
– Scrutineering: we will work on this too, most likely our scrutineers will come to your pit and check the safety compliance of the vehicles. Post-race random weighing of cars will be conducted via drive-through basis.

9) When will scrutineering be conducted?
Due to social distancing SOP, scrutineering will be conducted at your pit. However, this will still take a long time. As usual we will organise for Pre-Scrutineering activities the night before the race.

10) Can I park the car overnight in the pit?
If you come early for the Pre-Scrutineering activity, then yes you will be permitted to park your car overnight at the pit.
HOWEVER, only a limited number of pits will be open to cater for this, so you will need to be back at the circuit early the next morning to move your car out from the other pit if it is not yours.

11) Are there enough pits to ensure safe social distancing SOP especially given that MSF and MCS will be running together?
Yes, there are enough pits. We are arranging and managing the pit situation for all the teams and individuals that purchased pit spots, and will share this with you soon.
HOWEVER for teams that are running cars in both MSF and MCS, you will only be allocated 1 pit with which to run the team, unless of course the total number of vehicles under your management exceeds 4 cars, for which then additional pit spots in an adjoining adjacent pit will be allocated.

12) What happens to my pit allocation?
We are arranging and managing the pit situation for all the teams and individuals that purchased pit spots, and will share this with you soon.

13) Can I enter / participate in both MSF and MCS since they are on the same weekend?
For sure you can!

14) Can I bring my family members to the race?
We are honestly sorry, but RMCO SOP does not permit personnel / people that are not relevant nor required to be in attendance of the event. Spectators are not permitted. Children most certainly are not permitted.

15) I forgot: where can I see the Sporting and Technical Regulations for MSF Racing 2020?
