MSF Saga Cup
This category is for the production PROTON Saga or PROTON Saga Iswara car, below 1500cc. The chassis designation “LM”. In a nutshell:
– original engine, but may be bore & stroked, capacity is open
– original carburettor & inlet manifold
– original distributor, no electronic ignition
– original gearbox; ratios may be changed
– original brake discs & calipers front, drums rear
– original bodywork: wheels must not protrude beyond the stock arches; front splitter & rear spoiler permitted
MSF Production
Production categories are an affordable means to go racing, one-step up from MSF Saga Cup. Control tyre is Hankook Ventus RS4 Z232 tyres 195/50/15.
Standard Production is for cars 2006 and newer; no modifications except basic exhaust, springs & dampers, brake pads. Very basic, very affordable. Different weights provide BOP.
Super Production is for cars 2006 and newer, with 2 engine capacities and weights. Same as Std Prod but engines, gearbox, suspension etc may be modified.
Tuner Production is a mix of old skool: turbo 1600cc, VTEC up to 1700cc, NA up to 1900cc. EG & EK Civics, Starlet Turbos, Satria MIVECs race here.
MSF Super Series
Super Series is hardcore old skool full-spec racing using Hankook Z221 semi-slick tyres.
Unlimited class is purely open: this is where monster turbocharged K-series Civics and Satria 4WD and even TCR cars battle.
Limited class is for highly modified and swapped Street-based racers: EG6 with 2.2L K-series, Lancer Evos, Subaru Imprezas, DC5s, Nissan Silvias.
Super 1600 is an open battle series for up to 1600cc: mostly 90s Civics and Toyotas going head-to-head!
MSF Ultimate
The legendary MSF Ultimate categories are serious full-race cars:
Ultimate Touring is probably the Best of Malaysian racers & teams in up to 2L NA machines or up to 1600cc turbo.
Ultimate Touring NA is same as above but excludes VTEC engines – other forms of variable valve timing permitted.
Ultimate 1800 and Ultimate 1800 NA are same as above but just limited to 1900cc NA.
